The Lost Babies Of China's One-Child Policy

Maybe China's time-bomb is none other than the fact that less females are being born than males. According to official statistics, for every 100 girls born, 197 boys are born - nearly double. It seems as if the traditional preference for a male child may just bring China to its knees in the next few years. Already females are being kidnapped by desperate men who can't find wives....Mao wanted the Chinese to go forth and multiply - and they did, going from 400 million in the 1960's to over a billion by the next generation. Now they have to be controlled to stop their over-population. Let's see what happens...should be interesting.

China's government claims its one-child policy has successfully reined in the country's population, but it has also led to the disappearance of millions of baby girls in the 30 years since it was introduced.

The town of Wuxue in southern China looks normal enough. Pedicabs ply its narrow streets; hawkers sell steaming bowls of rice noodles to passers-by.

But in Wuxue's primary school something is amiss.

In one classroom of white-washed walls and wooden desks a group of seven-year-olds learn to pipe on the bamboo Chinese flute. Of 40 students just nine are girls.

Next door, another class practice their calligraphy, copying down hieroglyphs in neat rows. Once again, most of the children grappling with their pencils are boys.

The little girls of Wuxue are not being denied an education. Rather, they simply don't exist. According to official statistics, for every 100 girls there are 197 boys.

It is the worst example of gender imbalance in China, but a similar pattern exists across the country. The cause is an unintended result of the one-child policy: sex selective abortions.

The Chinese government says three decades of state-controlled family planning has prevented 400 million births, a feat achieved with the threat of heavy fines for extra births and the provision of free contraception.

Abortion - which is largely free of stigma in China - is also encouraged to terminate excess pregnancies.

But a traditional preference for male children and the increasing availability of ultrasound technology have intersected.

The result: the widespread use of abortion to guarantee a baby boy, throwing the country's demographics off balance.

By 2020 it is thought there will be 50 million men who cannot find a wife. In a culture where marriage and reproduction are considered the highest moral duties the result is a social time bomb.

Kidnapping of women as brides is already common in China's countryside. In one case last year in the northern province of Shanxi, 25 women were rescued from a village where they had been sold for £3,000 a head to men who could not find wives.

Experts predict that kidnappings will rise as further generations of boys grow up to find a shortage of women.

To try to even up the numbers, the government has banned pre-natal sex testing. But the regulation is ignored by many hospitals for which ultrasounds are a lucrative business.

In Wuxue, parents gathered at the school gate seemed loath to admit that there was a preponderance of boys.

Most denied a preference for male children. Only one old man picking up his granddaughter said that he wanted to speak the truth.

He said: "We can only have one child, so when people fall pregnant they go to the hospital for an ultrasound and if it's a girl they get rid of it. That's why you can see so many boys here."

As the one-child policy enters its fourth decade that male majority will likely continue to grow, fuelled by a strange combination of state-enforced family planning, new technology, and age-old prejudices.

The fall of Jessie Jackson Jr

Kind of ironic that a white mistress has destroyed the political aspirations of the racist Jessie Jackson family - and managed to turn the African American female community against them as well!

Jessie Jackson Jr. son of legendary racial hustler Jessie Jackson is in some trouble in Chicago. Law enforcement officials apparently have released tapes of a top Hindu Indian American financial supporter of Jessie Jackson offering a $6 million bribe to former IL Governor Rob Blagojevich to make Jessie Jackson Jr. the US Senator (the Senate seat Obama gave up). Now it comes out that this same Hindu Indian financial supporter of Jessie Jr. was paying to fly a White, blonde Washington restaurant hostess to come see Jessie Jr. in Chicago. So Jessie Jackson Jr. has a young, blonde mistress and shady Indian financial supporters are paying for her. Very interesting that the Chicago Sun Times is reporting this story, featuring it – and the Black community is turning a bit on Jessie Jackson Jr for chasing White women.

Canadian Immigration Policy Reform

Some fun immigration facts from Canada. Makes for some very scary and depressing reading...

OTTAWA, Canada

Did you know?
1. Immigration increases the size of Canada’s population and economy, but does NOT improve Canadians’ standard of living.

2. It is estimated that recent immigrants receive BILLION$ of dollars a year more in benefits, than they pay in taxes.

3. Only 17% of immigrants admitted each year are fully assessed on the basis of their employment and language skills. (Or conversely, a whopping 83% of new immigrants are NOT assessed!)

4. While the average age of Canadians is increasing and the proportion of seniors will almost double in the next few decades, immigration will do very little to offset this trend despite the widely held belief that it will do so.

5. There are more than 100,000 (FOREIGN) parents and grandparents of immigrants who have met requirements and are waiting to enter Canada. They will receive the benefits of our public health care system without having contributed to costs by paying income tax.

6. Most of the quarter of million people who immigrate to Canada every year are NOT interviewed by a visa officer, to determine if they are well-suited to integrate into Canadian society and its economy.

7. Far more Canadians want immigration levels LOWERED rather than increased. Despite this, and the lack of economic or demographic benefits to Canadians, we maintain the highest per capita intake in the world.

8. In terms of Canadians’ attitude towards a multicultural mosaic, a 2007 survey indicated that 18% thought that it is reasonable to accommodate religious and cultural minorities while 53% thought immigrants should adapt fully to Canadian culture.

9. The number of visible-minority neighbourhoods in Canada’s three largest cities (Toronto, Montreal & Vancouver) increased from six in 1981 to 254 in 2001.

10. Canada’s acceptance rate for refugee claimants is three times (3X) the average of other countries, suggesting that two-thirds of those accepted would probably NOT be considered genuine refugees by other countries.

11. In 2003, Canada accepted 76% of refugee claims by Sri Lankans, while Britain accepted 2% and Germany 4%. That year Canada accepted 1,749 refugee claims by Sri Lankans while all other countries (combined) accepted only 1,160.

12. Canada, uniquely among nations, allows (foreign) nationals of many democratic countries with good human rights records to make refugee claims in Canada on the basis that they fear persecution in their (own) homelands.

Barack Obama claims Fox News is 'ultimately destructive' for U.S. as he takes aim at critics

The Thin-Skinned One must be really desperate to turn to the Rolling Stone liberal trash rag to try and bolster his image and to take a swipe at Fox news. Boo hoo - Fox news doesn't like me - whhaaaaa. Big sook. Anyhow, apparently he thinks Fox news is bad for the long term growth of America - WTF? I think he's got that wrong - the only thing that is bad for the long term growth of America is HIM and his bandits. Now he's appealing to the only empty heads that would still vote for him - the young voter and "independents". He knows he has the black vote as they only vote for one of their own - no matter how ineffective the person is.

Barack Obama has begun the fightback against his critics in the U.S. with a hard-hitting interview in Rolling Stone magazine.

The U.S. President singles out Fox News for criticism as he tackles the banking crisis, U.S. troops in Afghanistan, the strength of the Tea Part movement, global warming and his decision to sack General Stanley McChrystal in the wide-ranging article.

But it was Rupert Murdoch's television network that came in for the most blistering attack as Obama labelled it 'ultimately destructive for the long-term growth' of the U.S.

He said: 'It is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view.

'It's a point of view that I disagree with. It's a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world.

'But as an economic enterprise, it's been wildly successful. And I suspect that if you ask Mr Murdoch what his number-one concern is, it's that Fox is very successful.'

Obama is clearly aiming to bolster his party image with the appearance in the pop culture bible ahead of the mid-term elections in November.

The magazine - which has a circulation of 1.4million in the U.S. - goes on sale on Friday as the Obama administration attempts to avoid a Republican takeover in the House of Representatives.

It comes out after a poll run by Fox News stated the majority of Americans turn to the network to get trusted political coverage.

In the article, the President reveals he turns to his music collection to help him get through the 'difficult days'.

He revealed his iPod has around 2,000 songs, including tracks by Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and rapper Lil Wayne.

Obama has been trying to fire up Democratic voters through a flurry of interviews and lightning campaign stops across the U.S.

He was in New Mexico and Wisconsin yesterday trying to appeal to young voters and independents who backed him when he swept into the White House in the 2008 presidential election.

Today he will head to the birthplace of his political triumph - Iowa - and will finish with a meeting with voters in Richmond, Virginia.

With the U.S. economy struggling to recover and unemployment still near 10 per cent, Republicans are expected to make big gains in the mid-term elections.

All 435 seats in the House and 37 of 100 Senate seats are at stake in what is known as a midterm election, so-called because it falls half way through the four-year presidential term.

Obama took office in January 2009 with a huge Democratic majority in the House and an effective 10 seat edge in the Senate, counting two political independents who vote with the Democrats.

South Africa: Schalk's cop cap creates scene

This post is just to show the international readers how brilliant South Africa is at making an ass of itself. Schalk Burger is a Springbok rugby player who wore an old South African Police cap to a concert held at a restaurant. The police sent 6 - yes, 6 police members to ensure that he handed the cap over to them as it is "illegal"  to wear anything with the police emblem unless you are a police official. I'm sure the South African public feel so much safer now that this criminal has been put in his place! It sure beats the police from having to walk the streets and stop murders, rapes and robberies....this is far more important than actual crime. BTW - South Africa has the highest murder and rape stats in the world but they can spare 6 on-duty police officers to retrieve an old cap.

Schalk Burger wearing the offending police cap

Hermanus – Six armed police officers on Saturday apparently stormed into a restaurant here during a concert by Louise Carver – because of a police cap worn by Schalk Burger.

“It was like something out of a play,” one of the restaurant patrons said.

The restaurant was packed with locals and tourists that were attending the Whale Festival.

The police confronted Springbok flank Burger, who was wearing an old cap with the emblem of the old police service.

Lieutenant Colonel André Traut told reporter Kobus Pretorius on Wednesday that it was illegal to wear anything with the police emblem unless you are a police official.

“If it happens, the circumstances will be considered, as well as what the emblem was used for. The emblem, or the item of clothing on which it is worn, will be confiscated and in serious instances a person may be arrested. Every case is treated on its merits,” he said.

A witness of the incident said that the restaurant manager spotted the trouble and spoke to the police officers.

“He offered to go to Burger himself and ask him to remove the cap and hand it over to the police.”

According to a police statement, three police officials that were on patrol handled the situation and another two joined them later on.

“The police officials kept standing at the door of the restaurant and did not go inside to speak to Burger. They used the waiters to negotiate with Burger and prevent an unpleasant situation in the restaurant.”

Burger later removed the cap and handed it over to the police.

He asked them what the problem was and they explained it to him.

“He was completely unaware that it was illegal to wear the SAP emblem and has not been prosecuted,” said the police.

However, restaurant patrons said that six police officials had stood in the middle of the restaurant.

“They were noisy, shouted and created a big scene.”

Chief manager Debra Harte said that management were disappointed with the manner in which the situation had been handled.

They are considering further steps as it was a disturbance and an embarrassment for their loyal clients.

Burger’s agent Craig Livingstone confirmed the incident and said the cap had been confiscated.

“Schalk loves Hermanus and will certainly be back for a visit.”

Lula & Dilma: Marxist Criminals Rape Brazil

There are some worrying developments in Brazil. The current communist president, Lula is acting more and more like an out-of-control dictator. He has cherry picked his successor, Dilma Rousseff, and is campaigning for her on state money. The rest of the world is under the impression that Lula has been instrumental to Brazil's recent success, but he was mostly against the very reforms that were introduced whilst he was in opposition. One of Lula’s biggest economic contributions was simply not to mess things up – and this was achieved by the abandonment of the far-left policies that he had once advocated. He has pursued a foreign policy that is either cynical or naive – praising authoritarians such as Chávez and Fidel Castro and pursuing a courtship of Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad. His preferred "successor" Dilma, is a convicted bank robber, murderer and a Marxist terrorist. Apparently, she is a nothing of note and word is that Lula picked her so he could remain president from behind her skirts. Happy days are indeed ahead for Brazil...

Comrade Lula in his union days

by Marcos
(San Paolo Corespondent - henrymakow.com)

It is possible that since Hitler's burning of books in the public square, the world has not seen such a surreal situation: a protest inside the Journalists' Union FOR the censorship of the press.

Yes, you read it right. Lula's Workers party and some of their lapdog organizations are defending what they call "social control" of the media. Social control for them, is the creation of Soviets, comprised in their entirety of Communist groups, which would decide what to publish.

This comes in direct response to Media exposure of Party misdeeds. Contrary to the law, Lula is campaigning for his chosen successor, Dilma Rousseff, at state expense. Instead of acting as an impartial magistrate, he is engaged in insulting the opposition and declaring that Brazil history started when he took control. He has been fined several times.

The largest magazine in the country, Veja, has proved that Dilma's right hand and personal friend, Erenice Guerra, below left, has used the the Chief of Staff office (Erenice followed Dilma in the position) to sell privileges and contracts with the government.

Erenice's son created a bogus company to lobby and charges 6% for contracts that were approved with the help of his mother influence. We are talking about deals of R$ 9 BILLION (US$ 5 Bi).

Further investigation showed that many members of Erenice family were hired by the government to do nothing or were involved in other scandals. It is unbelievable, but Erenice will be followed in the Chief of Staff position by another woman who was involved in a huge scandal when her husband was a mayor and took bribes from bus companies. Later, he denounced the scheme and was found dead. The family says he was murdered by the Party. Nothing has been proved.

This is not the first time. Lula's son, who used to be a humble zoo keeper, created a bogus TV production company and was awarded with R$ 10 million in contracts from a state company. He is now a multi-millionaire.

Lula, cynically said that his son is a genius, like a Ronaldinho (from soccer). The corruption news came on top of another scandal, where Party militants were digging into fiscal data from the adversaries.

Because the press has (finally) realized that they are in a bad position, they probably forced their Marxist editors to print the truth. It is a case of too little, too late.

This week, the Party told the MST, the Landless (Fake) Peasants Movement, a terrorist branch of the party that invades lands and kills farmers, to make a blockade in several of the major roads that give access to Sao Paulo.

The goal is to destabilize a state that is not yet in their control and where they will lose big time. They hate the fact that Sao Paulo has drastically reduced crime and that people here just don't buy the populist lies of Lula. They have done this many other times, especially using the Teacher's Union, coming to a point of seriously hurting a governor who was suffering from terminal cancer and stopping classes for the children for months on end.

1) They have a populist demagogue leader. Most people don't have a clue. Lula is surfing on the reforms of the former administration, which ended 20 years of high inflation. He and his party were against these reforms, but now he takes credit for them. He is also benefiting from a long term commodity boom which helped the economy. The former administration created the food stamps program: Lula can be seen in youtube making a statement against it, when he was in the opposition.

Now, he says he was the one who created it. Lula is portrayed in the international press as a humble worker who made it. This couldn't be further to the truth. In fact, he worked in the plant for a couple of years. After that, he became an union leader and never worked again. Dilma follows his footsteps. She has also never worked in the private sector, and was always held a sinecure created for her by a leftist politician. Her only real work experience has been as a little shop owner, which went bankrupt in one year. This is the next President of Brazil.

2) They have mobilized everywhere. Need a credit card statement to bash an opponent? A bank employee will give you one. Need the tax return of an adversary? A public servant will give it to you. And so it goes. They have hijacked the universities (Brazil now doesn't have one school among the best 200), the newspaper newsrooms, the state companies. The Unions now get one day of salary of every worker, even the non unionized, and are not obliged to tell where the money goes (Lula pushed a law for it). The common citizen doesn't have the time and money to leave work to go to a political meeting, but the Party has thousands of professional agitators, and can easily pack 100 buses with their Nazi brown shirts within one day of notice.

3) They have bought off the capitalists. The Party uses the BNDS, (federal bank) to borrow money from the banks at 12% and lend it to business owners at 3 to 5%. In the process, they make the banks happy and also get all the support they need from large companies. It is a fascist economy. This (US$ 100 BI this year) has tripled the internal public debt, but it gave a boost in the economy in times of election.

4) Because of the military government, and 30 years of brainwashing, people are afraid to sound conservative, and there is virtually no opposition. It is the victory of Antonio Gramsci's strategy of social and cultural infiltration. Gramsci is a Marxist author who makes Machiavellli look like a kindergarten teacher. Only leftist writers get reviews in the papers, only leftist movie makers get funds for production, etc. The Ministry of Culture has just chosen the movie with Lula's (fake) biography, a piece of propaganda that flopped at the theaters, to represent Brazil in the Oscars. I will not be surprised if it wins.

Dilma Roisseff

Unfortunately, the scandals have only scratched the surface of Dilma's candidacy. It seems we will have the first terrorist, bank robbing, murderer president of Brazil. People don't know that the last thing these Communists want is to help the poor.

In fact, they have destroyed Brazil's education system, and illiteracy is higher than when Lula took power. The ranking of Brazilian students in the world has dropped. Basic sanitation (sewerage) is in the same level. Health service is a disaster. 50,000 Brazilians die violent deaths, most because of drugs and guns that are brought into Brazil by the Colombian terrorist organization FARC, a friend and ally of the Party for decades.

What people don't understand is that Marxist parties don't want to play the democratic game. The want power, and once power is achieved, they will never leave the throne. Their goal is total control of society. There is no alternation of power with Marxists. There are also no ethics, since this end justifies any means. They lie, they murder, and yet they feel good about it, because they do it for a "cause". Like diabolical maniacs, they really don't know what they will do once they get there, but get there they will.

Reform group argues Canada lets in too many immigrants

Canada is starting to feel the same anti-immigration wave that Europe is currently experiencing. People are starting to speak up - no longer afraid of the red-herring racist and xenophobic charges that usually goes with this discussion. Which western country can add over 250 000 immigrants annually and still offer the same standard of education, health and safety that the citizens have enjoyed previously. The benefits of a high level of immigration aren't worth costs that include considerable government expenditures and higher housing costs, pollution and crowding in big Canadian cities. Welfare refugees - me thinks your days are numbered...

A pillar of the Canadian establishment, brushing aside the risk he could become embroiled in one of the country's most sensitive political issues, is endorsing a new organization challenging Canadian immigration policy.

Derek Burney is a former senior corporate chief executive, former ambassador to the U.S., one-time chief of staff to Brian Mulroney, and served as the head of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's transition team after the Conservatives won the 2006 election.

Canadian society, he said, needs to stop treating immigration as an untouchable "third rail" that can't be debated without prompting allegations of bigotry.

So he's joined the advisory board of an organization being launched Tuesday on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

The Centre for Immigration Policy Reform will be headed by Martin Collacott, a former ambassador who writes frequently on immigration and refugee policy at the Fraser Institute, and James Bissett, a former director-general of the Canadian Immigration Service.

The new group argues the benefits of a high level of immigration aren't worth costs that include considerable government expenditures and higher housing costs, pollution and crowding in big Canadian cities.

"Unfortunately immigration and refugee policy is a bit like health care in Canada," Burney said in an interview.

"It's being denied rational debate at the political level, and this is despite the very clear evidence of abuse of the system, of fraud in the system and a lack of coordination in the country in terms of screening."

He says his major concern is that Canada's economy has been chronically plagued by relatively low economic productivity, yet the large number of unskilled workers and family-class immigrants weakens productivity further.

Burney said politicians of all stripes refuse to discuss such concerns because some immigrant communities that lobby for high quotas of family-class immigrants are "very active" in federal politics.

Burney, 70, acknowledged he was courting controversy that could damage his legacy as a business executive and senior public servant who played a key role in the successful negotiation of the 1988 Canada-U. S. Free Trade Agreement.

He is an Order of Canada recipient, has several honorary degrees, and had a street named after him in his hometown of Thunder Bay, Ont.

But he said he felt it was time to take a stand in support of Collacott and Bissett, who have argued in relative obscurity for years that Canadian immigration policy needs reform.

"It's a third-rail kind of issue, nobody wants to talk about it, it's not for polite company," said Burney, now an adviser to the Ogilvy Renault law firm and formerly chief executive officer of Bell Canada International and later of the CAE Inc. aviation firm.

Collacott and Bissett "have a great deal of knowledge about the subject, and they're not irrational, they're not emotional, they're not racists.

"They're simply trying to acquaint Canadians with the facts."

The Centre for Immigration Policy Reform is an organization dominated by academics and former senior bureaucrats, many with links to Canada's conservative movement, who argue that immigration levels are far too high and that refugee screening policy too lax.

Canada has in recent years brought in roughly 250,000 immigrants and refugees annually, and since 1990 has accepted more per capita than any country in the world, according to the Fraser Institute.

There are also 300,000 or so skilled and unskilled "temporary" workers in Canada, of which 192,500 arrived in 2009. And the government admitted 79,500 foreign students last year.

The critics say Canada's policy is essentially hijacked by self-interested groups -- employer groups seeking cheap labour even when there's high unemployment, lawyers, advocates and consultants in what they call the "immigration industry," and urban MPs from all parties who depend on immigrant groups for political support.

They also cite statistics and reports, including several from federal government researchers, showing that Canadian immigrants since the 1980s have struggled economically compared with the average Canadian.

Others backing the new group include Gilles Paquet, a frequent public commentator and professor emeritus at the University of Ottawa's Centre on Governance, and Salim Mansur, a University of Western Ontario political scientist, columnist, former federal candidate for the Canadian Alliance party under Stockwell Day's leadership, and author of Islam's Predicament: Perspectives of a Dissident Muslim.

Collacott said his group is trying to avoid, rather than import, what he calls the "xenophobic" hostility that exists today in Europe against immigrants and minorities. To do that, mainstream parties need to debate the issue openly, he said.

"While we've done better than the Europeans in terms of integrating immigrants into society, there are lots of signals that we're not doing well enough," Collacott told Postmedia.

Canadians need to debate the questions "without being called ant-immigrant and racist."

UK: The Thanet wind farm will milk us of billions

Oh - the great scam of our time. PC western governments are beating down the Climate Change door to get in on "alternative" energy industries - and the scam artists are just too eager to help them to alleviate them of their tax money. The UK government has bought into the wind farm con - where they are willing to pay up to 13 times more for "green" energy compared to nuclear energy. Just why are western governments against nuclear power stations? It's the most "green" energy around, yet they all flee when it's mentioned. Did all these twits get together behind our backs and decide to boycott nuclear across the board? Or could it be that it makes too  much sense and therefore governments can't justify increasing power bills, which of course won't net as much bounty from the poor tax payer? Nuclear energy is much cheaper to produce and power stations have a longer life span. In any case, the con man in this article, some Swede company, will receive over £1.2 billion in subsidies over the next 20 years - enough to build a nuclear power station and enough to make the tax payer really feel the pain.

In all the publicity given to the opening of "the world's largest wind farm" off the Kent coast last week, by far the most important and shocking aspect of this vast project was completely overlooked. Over the coming years we will be giving the wind farm's Swedish owners a total of £1.2 billion in subsidies. That same sum, invested now in a single nuclear power station, could yield a staggering 13 times more electricity, with much greater reliability.

The first all-too-common mistake in the glowing coverage accorded to the inauguration of this Thanet wind farm by the Climate Change Secretary, Chris Huhne, was to accept unquestioningly the claims of the developer, Vattenfall, about its output. The array of 100 three-megawatt (MW) turbines, each the height of Blackpool Tower, will have, it was said, the "capacity" to produce 300MW of electricity, enough to "power" 200,000 (or even 240,000) homes.

This may be true at those rare moments when the wind is blowing at the right speeds. But the wind, of course, is intermittent, and the average output of these turbines will be barely a quarter of that figure. The latest official figures on the website of Mr Huhne's own department show that last year the average output (or "load factor") of Britain's offshore turbines was only 26 per cent of their capacity.

Due to its position, the wind farm's owners will be lucky to get, on average, 75MW from their windmills, a fraction of the output of a proper power station. The total amount of electricity the turbines actually produce will equate to the average electricity usage not of 240,000 homes, but of barely half that number.

A far more significant omission from the media reports, however, was any mention of the colossal subsidies this wind farm will earn. Wind energy is subsidised through the system of Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs), unwittingly paid for by all of us through our electricity bills. Our electricity supply companies are obliged to buy offfshore wind energy at three times its normal price, so that each megawatt hour of electricity receives a 200 per cent subsidy of £100.

This means that the 75MW produced on average by Thanet will receive subsidies of £60 million a year, on top of the £30-40 million cost of the electricity itself. This is guaranteed for the turbines' estimated working life of 20 years, which means that the total subsidy over the next two decades will be some £1.2 billion. Based on the costings of the current French nuclear programme, that would buy 1 gigawatt (1,000MW) of carbon-free nuclear generating capacity, reliably available 24 hours a day – more than 13 times the average output of the wind farm.

The 100 turbines opened last week cost £780 million to build, which means that the £100 million a year its owners hope to earn represents a 13 per cent return on capital, enough to excite the interest of any investor. And these turbines are only the first stage of a project eventually designed to include 341 of them, generating subsidies of £1 billion every five years.

A final claim for the Thanet wind farm (which Mr Huhne boasts is "only the beginning") is that it will create "green jobs" – although the developers say that only 21 of these will be permanent. These are thus costing, in "green subsidies" alone, £3 million per job per year, or £57 million for each job over the next 20 years. The Government gaily prattles about how it wants to create "400,000 green jobs", which on this basis would eventually cost us £22.8 trillion, or 17 times the entire annual output of the UK economy.

If all this sounds dizzyingly surreal, the fact remains that we must begin to grasp just what the green fantasies of Mr Huhne, the EU and the rest are costing us. Even the Queen, we learn, tried to claim a "fuel poverty" allowance for her soaring electricity bills, which have risen 50 per cent in the past year. But a crucial first step towards getting some grip on reality must be for those who report on these wind farms to stop hiding away the colossal price we are all now having to pay for one of the greatest scams of our age.

SEIU Fallout: FBI Investigates Prominent Labor Leader Andy Stern

Comrade Andy Stern, bosom buddy of Obama, is under FBI investigation for fraud. Mr Stern was the former labor leader for the SEIU - the union that heavily financed and supported Obama's election campaign and which is ruining American democracy. Tut, tut, Mr Stern - is this why you left the SEIU abruptly? On another point - how can unions justify wasting $44 million of members fees to fund the upcoming congressional elections? Of course they'll only be funding the Democrats. So my question - if I'm a forced SEIU member and I don't vote for the Dems, then how democratic is it that the union uses my money to back their political nominees? It's MY MONEY! Surely members fees should be used to better a members life - like health plans or pension savings. How dare unions use other peoples hard earned money to fund political parties! I've said it before and in case you've missed it - UNIONS ARE THE SCOURGE OF THE EARTH.

Comrade Andy Stern

WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI and the U.S. Labor Department are investigating prominent labor leader Andy Stern in their probe of corruption at the Service Employees International Union, according to two people who have been interviewed by federal agents.

The two organized labor officials met with federal agents this summer to answer questions about a six-figure book contract that Stern landed in 2006 and his role in approving money to pay the salary of an SEIU leader in California who allegedly performed no work.

Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the investigation. The FBI and the Labor Department’s office of inspector general declined to comment for the record.

The disclosure about the federal inquiry of Stern — who abruptly resigned as president of the 2.2-million member SEIU in April — comes just weeks ahead of contentious congressional elections in which the union is spending an estimated $44 million to support its favored Democratic candidates.

The SEIU has been plagued with several financial scandals since 2008, when the Los Angeles Times reported that Tyrone Freeman, head of the union’s largest California local, misappropriated hundreds of thousands of dollars from the union. The union ousted Freeman and demanded that he return the money. No federal charges have been filed against him, but SEIU spokeswoman Michelle Ringuette said the union has been cooperating with the FBI.

Stern left his post two years before the end of his term, saying he wanted to focus more on his personal life. He remains a member of President Barack Obama’s deficit commission and a highly influential figure in the White House, where he was one of the most frequent visitors last year. He is also a research fellow at Georgetown University and a paid consultant for the SEIU.

USA: Hope, Change and the Uninformed Public

Liberals/Progressives are just so dense that they don't even recognise their own stupidity. John Kerry slammed the American electorate as being more taken with slogans instead of paying attention to the facts or truth of politicians (hahah..snort...haha). I may be wrong but I suspect his little hissy-fit was aimed at Tea Party and Republican supporters. If he had stepped back and just thought about what he was saying for a minute he would have realised just how hypocritical he was being, seeing as his old pal Obama got into office on every oily slogan known to man - hope 'n change ring a bell Kerry? - without his supporters paying attention to him when he said he would "fundamentally transform America". Pot...kettle...black anyone?

If you can’t beat ‘em, beat up on ‘em is apparently the new playbook for the Democrats. John “He even looks French” Kerry, now the senior Senator from Massachusetts, voiced his view of Americans today: “We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening.”

And it must have been an informed public that voted for hope and change …

How many ways can liberals find to call Tea Partiers and fed-up Americans dumb, lazy, disinterested, and racist?

They’re running out of names to call in English, so maybe Kerry will have to resort epithets in French.

Dominican, Haitian killed in race-fueled dispute

Do not believe this story as it is impossible for people of color to be racist. Ethnic and racial strife is only found among Whites and never among other races. Therefore, this event did not happen.

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic - A Dominican foreman fatally shot a Haitian worker during an argument over pay, touching off racial clashes Sunday at a construction site that killed a Dominican worker and injured another, police said.

The flare-up happened near the beach resorts of Bavaro-Punta Cana, an area in the east of the Dominican Republic that is popular with foreign tourists.

According to a police statement, Haitians working on the residential project were demanding unpaid wages Saturday when the foreman, whose identity was not released, drew a pistol and fired, killing 32-year-old Issac Louis.

The next day, Haitian workers attacked their Dominican supervisors with rocks and wooden poles, beating 34-year-old Maximiliano Hierro to death and wounding 36-year-old William Leonel de la Cruz, police said.

Police said they were searching for both the foreman and the Haitian workers accused in Sunday's attack while stepping up patrols in the area to guard against further violence.

Construction, agriculture and other industries in the Spanish-speaking Dominican Republic depend on the labor of Haitian migrants who often cross the border illegally. The darker-skinned, French Creole-speaking Haitians are resented by many Dominicans, leading to discrimination, mass deportations and even lynchings.

Accusations that a Haitian killed a Dominican woman in 2005 provoked widespread home burnings and the deportation of 3,000 people. Last year, the beheading of a Haitian purportedly in retaliation for the murder of a Dominican man set off rock-throwing and vandalism at the Dominican Embassy and consulate in Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince.

USA: Public housing common sense

A snap-shot of how public housing doesn't works in America. Obama's illegal aunt brought the gaps in the system to the fore last week when she was interviewed and appeared astounded that American citizens and legal residents were outraged that illegals were given housing above legals in need - all on tax payer dime of course. Free housing to everyone and open borders. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Zeituni Onyango

PRESIDENT OBAMA’S aunt — Zeituni Onyango — lives in a 68-unit public housing complex for the elderly and disabled within walking distance of Boston Harbor beaches, a medical center, and lots of stores in South Boston. Broadly speaking, though, she lives in the gap between the state’s public housing policy and common sense.

In a WBZ-TV interview last week, Onyango, 58, came across as an ungrateful free-loader. Until May, when she was granted asylum by a judge, the native of Kenya had been living in Boston illegally for about six years courtesy of Massachusetts taxpayers. Yet Onyango managed to say with a straight face that “I did not take any advantage of the system. The system took advantage of me.’’ As for living expenses, Onyango said her sustenance “comes from heaven.’’ And a monthly disability check.

The common, fall-back position on illegal immigration is that nothing can be done until Congress hashes out a comprehensive immigration reform law. But state lawmakers can put their mark on the immigration debate, and without looking like a bunch of yahoos. The public is squarely behind such efforts. A Suffolk University survey this spring found 7-to-1 support among Massachusetts voters for requiring proof of legal residency for state subsidies, such as housing.

There are two types of public housing in the state — about 50,000 state-subsidized units and 34,000 federally-subsidized units. You can’t tell the difference by looking at them. But illegal immigrants know the difference. That’s because local housing authorities, which manage the developments, require proof of citizenship or legal immigration status for all household members at the federally-subsidized projects. But at the state-subsidized developments — such as Onyango’s abode — it’s just step right up, no questions asked about citizenship status.

The system is grossly unfair to low-income US citizens and legal immigrants on the waiting lists for public housing. In Boston alone, there are about 20,000 families on the waiting list for 14,000 occupied public housing units. But the hands of local housing officials are tied by a 1977 court ruling — federal, no less — that has been widely interpreted to mean that no immigrant — legal or illegal — can be denied a state-subsidized unit “solely because they are not citizens of the U.S.’’

So Onyango, and many like her, get to kick back in public housing despite deportation orders hanging over their heads. And no one is the wiser until an undocumented immigrant’s nephew runs for president.

Illegal immigrants can really milk the system on rent day. Public housing tenants are required to pay about one third of their incomes for rent. But housing officials have no way to verify the incomes of illegal immigrants who work under the table. That allows some illegals to report no income and live rent-free. How many do it? No one knows because housing officials can’t inquire about immigration status in the first place.

Housing authorities should operate under one, consistent system when determining eligibility for public housing. And the federal system is the right model. It rejects entire households of illegal immigrants. But it recognizes mixed families consisting of undocumented parents and children born in the United States. In such cases, housing authorities prorate the rent so that only the children, who are US citizens, receive the rent subsidy. That’s how it works with food stamps, too. And it’s about as fair as one can be under the circumstances.

Not that fairness is keeping Onyango awake at night. She seemed surprised by the TV reporter’s questions about staying in public housing while living illegally in the United States.

“They gave it to me,’’ she responded. “Ask your system. I didn’t create the system.’’ Fair enough. The question has been posed. How much longer does Massachusetts want to be played for a fool?

Guess the country

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's Super-Burqa!!

Can you guess the country where this photos was taken? Iran? Iraq? Saudi? Pakistan?

Nope, this photo was taken near Ft. Worth, Texas.

Have you bought one for the women in your family yet?

Czech president tells UN to stay out of economics

Good grief! It takes the Czech President, Mr Vaclav Claus, to put the UN in their place. It's usually ex-communist countries that recognise the dangers of socialism and what it means for the world. Why aren't we listening to them? I mean, look how well communism has worked in countries which have adopted the policy. Just why is North Korea worse off than South Korea? In North Korea the average person eats one meal a day - those with a better job eat two meals a day. North Koreans are in the same position that East Germans found themselves some 20 years ago - risking their lives to escape. Anyway, we all know that the UN won't take notice of Mr Klaus as they have their own agenda for world domination. Interesting, Mr Klaus also told the UN to back-off regarding the climate change debate. All of a sudden I'm a Czech fan!!

Czech President Vaclav Klaus on Saturday criticized U.N. calls for increased "global governance" of the world's economy, saying the world body should leave that role to national governments.

The solution to dealing with the global economic crisis, Klaus told the U.N. General Assembly, did not lie in "creating new governmental and supranational agencies, or in aiming at global governance of the world economy."

"On the contrary, this is the time for international organizations, including the United Nations, to reduce their expenditures, make their administrations thinner, and leave the solutions to the governments of member states," he said.

Klaus appeared to be responding to the address of the Swiss president of the General Assembly, Joseph Deiss, who said on Thursday at the opening of the annual gathering of world leaders in New York that it was time for the United Nations to "comprehensively fulfill its global governance role."

Deiss suggested the world body should get more involved in economic and financial issues and not leave them solely in the hands of forums like the Group of 20 club of key developed and developing nations.

Klaus, a free-market economist who oversaw a wave of privatization in the 1990s after communism collapsed in his homeland, also said the world was "moving in the wrong direction" in combating the economic crisis.

"The anti-crisis measures that have been proposed and already partly implemented follow from the assumption that the crisis was a failure of markets and that the right way out is more regulation of markets," he said.

Klaus said that was a "mistaken assumption" and it was impossible to prevent future crises through regulatory interventions and similar actions by governments.

That will only "destroy the markets and together with them the chances for economic growth and prosperity in both developed and developing countries," he said.

The Czech president, a vocal skeptic of global warming, said the United Nations should also keep out of science, including climate change. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has made fighting climate change one of his top priorities.

Pastor Manning

Every now and then I post a clip from Pastor Manning - just so that I know there are black people out there who don't shy away from calling a spade a spade. It's quite refreshing. Unfortunately, I don't think his dream of building a united America will ever see the light. There are too many liberals and democrats standing in the way...

Canada: Mounties to recruit for women and minorities

I'm still waiting for an explanation of what a visible minority is. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police plans to make white, male police officers a minority on the force within a generation as it struggles to better reflect the multicultural face of Canada. In other words - it doesn't matter if they are competent, if you are a white male you are now an unwanted entity - all in the name of multi-culturalism (wonder if the criminals also reflect these same stats?). “A better balance with females and minorities will create a better RCMP and a better, peaceful, orderly Canada,” a group of Liberal senators wrote in a position paper. Proponents for a more multicultural force say that anything lost in brute force would be made up in empathy, language skills and the ability to reach out to cultural communities. Yeah right - remember to send that memo to the crims. How's that for being grateful to the white males that have kept Canada safe in the past? You are now neither needed or wanted so that the liberals can sleep better at night, all warm and fuzzy with a "multi-cultural" Mountie force protecting them.

Under new hiring benchmarks set this month, senior Mounties say that new classes of recruits should comprise 30 per cent women, 20 per cent visible minorities and 10 per cent aboriginals, The Globe has learned. If the benchmarks are met, it would be the first time “minority” hires would actually represent a majority of RCMP recruits.

These benchmarks amount to a near doubling, tripling and quintupling of the respective categories of cadets recruited last year. Figures show that, under less ambitious employment-equity goals then, the RCMP graduated classes that were 17 per cent women, 7 per cent visible minorities and 2 per cent aboriginal.

“We have a responsibility to be representative of the communities we serve,” Inspector Jo Ann Smith, the RMCP's head of employment equity, said in an interview Thursday.

“There aren't just six-foot-two-inch males in the population,” she said. “Think of it this way: If you have a culturally diverse police force, then you're going to be able to respond to the calls you get from communities better. You're going to have people who understand those communities better.”

Like most police forces, the RCMP has been a bastion of tough, white men that under-represents women and ethnic groups. Meanwhile, Canada has grown ever more multicultural. The country's population is 51 per cent women, 15 per cent visible minorities and 4 per cent aboriginal, according to 2006 census data. (The Mounties do over-represent aboriginals in their ranks, given they often patrol those communities.

Parliamentarians this year chided the force for being too male and too white. “A better balance with females and minorities will create a better RCMP and a better, peaceful, orderly Canada,” a group of Liberal senators wrote in a position paper.

“It's important that the RCMP reflect the face of Canada for policing reasons,” said Liberal Senator Colin Kenny in an interview. He argued that the investigation into the 1984 Air India terrorist tragedy failed, in part, because federal agents couldn't understand the language of the suspects.

Commissioner William Elliott, a career Ottawa bureaucrat appointed to lead the force three years ago, has frequently vowed to make his force more “progressive.” He claims to have changed the composition of the force somewhat, but figures show the Mounties' ranks are still only 20 per cent female, 7 per cent visible minority and 7 per cent aboriginal.

The recruiting strategy has caused some tension in RCMP ranks. Some long-serving Mounties privately say they don't feel that race and gender should be major parts of the hiring equation – they argue jobs should be given on merit only, and that being a police officer remains a physical job.

The RCMP makes male and female recruits pass the same baseline physical tests. Proponents for a more multicultural force say that anything lost in brute force would be made up in empathy, language skills and the ability to reach out to cultural communities.

Police forces that seek to become more diverse often discover they have to make an extra effort to do so. Many immigrants come from countries where police are repressive, cliquish and unwelcoming to women and minorities.

Some strides are being made in Canada. Earlier this year, Toronto Police said they graduated a class that was 33 per cent made up of visible minorities, 23 per cent female. The Ontario Provincial Police force claims to be more than 30 per cent female, but says it doesn't track the races of the ranks.

The Mounties no longer talk of their hiring goals being “targets,” preferring now to use a less-committal term, “benchmarks.”

USA: Dad of 23 gets prison for non-support

Attention - all females in western Michigan - if you see the man in the photo below - run! This prize already has 23 children (that he know of) with 14 different women and is now in jail for the next 2 years for failing to pay over $530 000 in child support. What's his excuse? Hey, he did try to pay his child support from his unemployment cheque! Yeah, American tax payer - not only did you pay him not to work, but you also paying to support his 23 children and now you get to support him in jail!

A western Michigan man accused of fathering 23 children with 14 women and has been sent to prison for at least two years for failing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in child support.

"Animals procreate. Human beings are supposed to nurture their children," Kent County Circuit Judge Dennis Leiber said Thursday.

Howard Veal, 44, of Muskegon owes more than $533,000 in child support, according to the state attorney general's office. He pleaded guilty in July to owing more than $60,000 to a Grand Rapids woman.

There are 14 child-support cases pending against him in Kent and Muskegon counties, The Grand Rapids Press reported.

The state has prosecuted thousands of support cases "but none\ as outrageous as this," Assistant Attorney General Mitchell Wood said in a court filing.

Guidelines called for no more than six months in jail, but Veal was sentenced to 23 months to four years in prison. His release will be determined by the Michigan parole board.

Veal questioned whether he actually has 23 children and said he pays what he can.

"I was paying money from my unemployment," Veal told the judge. "I never chose not to pay."

Leiber said he was "stunned and amazed" by Veal's actions.

"You're an insult to every responsible father who sacrifices to provide for their children," he said.

Sherri Black, the mother of two of Veal's children, said she was pleased with the sentence but would prefer to get money. She has received only $87.75 over seven years.

"Now my taxes will go to support him in prison," Black said.

UN 'to appoint space ambassador to greet alien visitors'

If you needed any further proof that the UN is a waste of time and your money, then look no further than this article. To think I pay taxes to pay some woman to sit around all day and wait for aliens to arrive is just mind boggling...wonder how much she's getting paid for this important job?? Hey, if she needs someone as a deputy I'm there!

The world alien greeter - Alien Mazlan Othman

Mazlan Othman, a Malaysian astrophysicist, is set to be tasked with co-ordinating humanity’s response if and when extraterrestrials make contact.

Aliens who landed on earth and asked: “Take me to your leader” would be directed to Mrs Othman.

She will set out the details of her proposed new role at a Royal Society conference in Buckinghamshire next week.

The 58-year-old is expected to tell delegates that the proposal has been prompted by the recent discovery of hundreds of planets orbiting other starts, which is thought to make the discovery of extraterrestrial life more probable than ever before.

Mrs Othman is currently head of the UN’s little known Office for Outer Space Affairs (Unoosa).

In a recent talk to fellow scientists, she said: “The continued search for extraterrestrial communication, by several entities, sustains the hope that some day human kind will received signals from extraterrestrials.

“When we do, we should have in place a coordinated response that takes into account all the sensitivities related to the subject. The UN is a ready-made mechanism for such coordination.”

Professor Richard Crowther, an expert in space law at the UK space agency who leads delegations to the UN, said: “Othman is absolutely the nearest thing we have to a ‘take me to your leader’ person”.

The plan to make Unoosa the co-ordinating body for dealing with alien encounters will be debated by UN scientific advisory committees and should eventually reach the body’s general assembly.

Opinion is divided about how future extraterrestrial visitors should be greeted. Under the Outer Space Treaty on 1967, which Unoosa oversees, UN members agreed to protect Earth against contamination by alien species by “sterilising” them.

Mrs Othman is understood to support a more tolerant approach.

But Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that alien interlopers should be treated with caution.

He said: “I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. The outcome for us would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.”

Global Cooling and the New World Order

The Bilderberg Group, Bilderberg conference, or Bilderberg Club is an annual, unofficial, invitation-only conference of around 130 guests, most of whom are people of influence in the fields of politics, banking, business, the military and media. Each conference is closed to the public.

Today in Australia, our unelected Prime Minister, Julia Gillard has announced a climate change committee to basically decide how they're going to implement a carbon tax - even though they went to the election denying they were considering such a tax. This committee, consisting of members of her Labor Government as well as the Greens (actually watermelons - green on the outside and red inside) and 4 "experts" will soon meet to decide the fate of the Australian tax payers. The Liberal opposition (actually the conservatives with the stupid name of Liberals - go figure), do not support any carbon tax and went to the election with a direct action plan - you know, doing sensible things like planting trees, cutting down on pollution etc. The Gillard/Red government have invited members of the opposition to join the holy committee on one provision. They may only join IF they believe in climate change! How's that for democracy in Australia?? Anyway, here's further mention of global cooling and how these socialist worldly thugs are going to try to bamboozle us - by hook or by crook - into paying for warming, caused by carbon, that is yet to be scientifically proven to be caused by man. Oh it just gets better and better...

Bilderberg. Whether you believe it’s part of a sinister conspiracy which will lead inexorably to one world government or whether you think it’s just an innocent high-level talking shop, there’s one thing that can’t be denied: it knows which way the wind is blowing.
At its June meeting in Sitges, Spain (unreported and held in camera, as is Bilderberg’s way), some of the world’s most powerful CEOs rubbed shoulders with notable academics and leading politicians. They included: the chairman of Fiat, the Irish Attorney General Paul Gallagher, the US special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke, Henry Kissinger, Bill Gates, Dick Perle, the Queen of the Netherlands, the editor of the Economist…. Definitely not Z-list, in other words.
Which is what makes one particular item on the group’s discussion agenda so tremendously significant. See if you can spot the one I mean:
The 58th Bilderberg Meeting will be held in Sitges, Spain 3 – 6 June 2010. The Conference will deal mainly with Financial Reform, Security, Cyber Technology, Energy, Pakistan, Afghanistan, World Food Problem, Global Cooling, Social Networking, Medical Science, EU-US relations.
Yep, that’s right. Global Cooling.

Which means one of two things.

Either it was a printing error.

Or the global elite is perfectly well aware that global cooling represents a far more serious and imminent threat to the world than global warming, but is so far unwilling to admit it except behind closed doors.

Let me explain briefly why this is a bombshell waiting to explode.

Almost every government in the Western world from the USA to Britain to all the other EU states to Australia and New Zealand is currently committed to a policy of “decarbonisation.” This in turn is justified to (increasingly sceptical) electorates on the grounds that man-made CO2 is a prime driver of dangerous global warming and must therefore be reduced drastically, at no matter what social, economic and environmental cost. In the Eighties and Nineties, the global elite had a nice run of hot weather to support their (scientifically dubious) claims. But now they don’t. Winters are getting colder. Fuel bills are rising (in the name of combating climate change, natch). The wheels are starting to come off the AGW bandwagon. Ordinary people, resisting two decades of concerted brainwashing, are starting to notice.

All this, of course, spells big trouble for the global power elite. As well as leading to food shortages (as, for example, it becomes harder to grow wheat in northerly latitudes; adding, of course, to such already-present disasters as biofuels and the rejection of GM), global cooling is going to find electorates increasingly angry that they have been sold a pup.

Our fuel bills have risen inexorably; our countryside, our views and our property values have been ravaged by hideous wind farms; our holidays have been made more expensive; our cost of living has been driven up by green taxes; our freedoms have been curtailed in any number of pettily irritating ways from what kind of light bulbs we are permitted to use to how we dispose of our rubbish. And to what end? If man-made global warming was really happening and really a problem we might possibly have carried on putting up with all these constraints on our liberty and assaults on our income. But if it turns out to have been a myth……

Well then, all bets are off.

The next few years are going to be very interesting. Watch the global power elite squirming to reposition itself as it slowly distances itself from Anthropogenic Global Warming (”Who? Us? No. We never thought of it as more than a quaint theory…”), and tries to find new ways of justifying green taxation and control. (Ocean acidification; biodiversity; et al). You’ll notice sly shifts in policy spin. In Britain, for example, Chris “Chicken Little” Huhne’s suicidal “dash for wind” will be re-invented as a vital step towards “energy security.” There will be less talk of “combatting climate change” and more talk of “mitigation”. You’ll hear enviro-Nazis like Obama’s Science Czar John Holdren avoid reference to “global warming” like the plague, preferring the more reliably vague phrase “global climate disruption.”

And you know what the worst thing is? If we allow them to, they’re going to get away with it.

Our duty as free citizens over the next few years is to make sure that they don’t.

Al Gore, George Soros, Bill Gates, Carol Browner, John Holdren, Barack Obama, David Cameron, Ed Miliband, Tim Yeo, Michael Mann, Ted Turner, Robert Redford, Phil Jones, Chris Huhne, John Howard (yes really, he was supposed to be a conservative, but he was the man who kicked off Australia’s ETS), Julia Gillard, Kevin Rudd, Yvo de Boer, Rajendra Pachauri….The list of the guilty goes on and on. Each in his own way – and whether through ignorance, naivety idealism or cynicism, it really doesn’t matter for the result has been the same – has done his bit to push the greatest con-trick in the history of science, forcing on global consumers the biggest bill in the history taxation, using “global warming” as an excuse to extend the reach of government further than it has ever gone before.

It is time we put a stop to this. In the US, the Tea Party movement is showing us the way. We need to punish these dodgy politicians at the ballot box. We need to ensure that those scientists guilty of malfeasance are, at the very least thrown out of the jobs which we taxpayers have been funding these last decades. We need to ensure that corporatist profiteers are no longer able to benefit from the distortion and corruption of the markets which result from green regulation.

We need a “Global Warming” Nuremberg.

UK's homosexual population size revealed: Just 1.5% of Britons say they are gay, lesbian or bisexual

So, we tip-toe around "sensitive PC issues" because we don't want to offend 1.5% of the population? 1 out of 100 people identify themselves as being gay in the UK - the figures fall short of previous estimates which have put the gay population at between 6 and 7 per cent.  Talk about the tail wagging the dog! The better news is that 70% identify as being Christian and 90% belong to the white race. If the UK deals with their Muslim and African immigration problem then there may still be hope for the country.

Just one in 100 people in the UK say they are gay or lesbian, the first ever survey of British sexual identity has revealed.

A further one in every 200 people are bisexual, according to the data published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

More than 480,000 consider themselves to be gay or lesbian and a further 245,000 say they are bisexual.

The data revealed men were twice as likely as women to describe themselves as gay or lesbian while London was revealed to have the highest numbers polled and Northern Ireland the lowest.

The information collected as part of the new Integrated Household Survey (IHS) means that nearly three-quarters of a million UK adults say they are gay, lesbian or bisexual.

The IHS is the largest social survey ever produced by the ONS and contains information provided by nearly 450,000 people - the biggest pool of UK social data after the Census.

The research showed that 95 per cent said they were heterosexual, 1 per cent gay or lesbian, 0.5 per cent bisexual and 0.5 per cent other.

Nearly 4 per cent of those asked refused to answer, said they did not know or described themselves as 'other'.

The figures are well short of previous estimates used by the government and gay rights charity Stonewall which have put the gay population at between 6 and 7 per cent - which works out at 3.6 million people.

The research carried out between April 2009 and March 2010 and comprises the results of six ONS surveys.

Respondents were asked whether they would describe themselves as heterosexual/straight, gay/lesbian, bisexual or other.

Nearly all replied, with the vast majority (95 per cent) saying they were heterosexual.

One in every 200 chose 'other' and just under 3 per cent said 'don't know' or refused to answer.

The question about sexual identity was added to the survey last year to provide a fuller picture of British society and to help public sector organisations to monitor their responsibility to provide equal opportunities.

The survey also found seven in 10 (71 per cent) people in the UK identified with the Christian religion, nearly nine out of 10 (89 per cent) belonged to the white ethnic group, and four in five men (80 per cent) and 78 per cent of women considered themselves to be in good health.

All IHS statistics are considered experimental and are not yet submitted for assessment to the UK Statistics Authority.

ONS hopes the survey will become accepted as a national statistic by the authority in 2012.

So That’s Why Bono Calls it the ONE Foundation

You just have to love these liberal do-gooders that actually do nothing good except scam the public into believing they care. Yes, they care alright - about their bottom line. ONE paid out $8 million to employees to monitor the disbursement of about $185,000. Almost as financially viable as the US stimulus cheques...

All this time I thought that maybe ONE was an acronym or something, but it looks like the Bono’s organization is so named because just one percent of the money raised makes it to its promoted destination:
Bono’s anti-poverty foundation ONE is under pressure to explain its lavish salaries after it was revealed that only a small percentage of money it raises reaches the needy.
The non-profit organisation set up by the U2 frontman received almost £9.6m in donations in 2008 but handed out only £118,000 to good causes (1.2 per cent).
The figures published by the New York Post also show that £5.1m went towards paying salaries.
So ONE (percent)™ paid out around $8 million (US) to employees to monitor the disbursement of about $185,000? How did these guys not end up in charge of the stimulus?

ONE makes Sting’s Rainforest Foundation look like a beacon of fiscal efficiency.

And way down at the end of the story:
ONE said it took no money from the public and that most of its funding came from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Well in that case, party time! (two of ONE’s employees wouldn’t happen to be named “Bill” and “Melinda” would they? Just checking…)

Based on this, it has to be asked: does Bono give any money to Bono’s “charity”?

Obama’s Latest Stroke of Brilliance… Let Corrupt Regimes Decide How to Spend US Aid Money

Is this guy for real? He wants to show the rest of the world how to manage their development whilst his own country is burning. This guys has a healthy self esteem - I'm gonna get me some of that! Mr Obama - charity begins at home. How about looking after your own citizens development and let the rest of the world worry about their own. Say after me: "America is bankrupt - we have no more free money - any money we give to you we have to loan from China and we have to pay it back - leave us alone - we have done more than enough - go ask your fellow third world countries  for your self-enrichment money".

He’s so smart.

With unemployment at record levels, with the deficit skyrocketing, with the national debt piling up, Barack Obama announced a historic new development plan this week… for foreign countries. Under Barack Obama’s brilliant new development plan, corrupt regimes will decide how to spend US taxpayer-funded aid money instead of being dicatated to.

President Obama announced the plan Wednesday at the United Nations. And, of course, he calls this another historic initiative.

CNN reported:
President Barack Obama on Wednesday announced the creation of a comprehensive administration initiative devoted to spurring development efforts around the globe.
Obama calls it new U.S. Global Development Policy and says it’s the “first of its kind by an American administration.”
“Put simply, the United States is changing the way we do business,” Obama said at the summit of the U.N. Millennium Development Goals, an ambitious agenda world leaders set 10 years ago to tackle global poverty, which has grown amid the world economic recession.
The program has four approaches. One is changing the definition of development.
“For too long, we’ve measured our efforts by the dollars we spent and the food and medicines that we delivered. But aid alone is not development. Development is helping nations to actually develop, moving from poverty to prosperity. And we need more than just aid to unleash that change. We need to harness all the tools at our disposal, from our diplomacy to our trade to our investment policies,” he said.
Second, the administration is changing how “the ultimate goal of development” is viewed.
“Our focus on assistance has saved lives in the short term, but it hasn’t always improved those societies over the long term. Consider the millions of people who have relied on food assistance for decades. That’s not development, that’s dependence, and it’s a cycle we need to break. Instead of just managing poverty, we have to offer nations and peoples a path out of poverty.”
Obama said that the United States will “partner with countries that are willing to take the lead” and that the time when “development was dictated by foreign capitals has come to an end.”

Booming China Lures Key Professors Home From US

China is enticing their educated citizens back from America. Highly educated Asians are choosing to return to China, which says a lot about where America finds itself today. Who would have thought years ago that this would be the result of America's "democracy". China will now benefit from all the education, knowledge and training America put into these scientists and will most likely take over as the place to be from America. Obama recently retrenched 40 000 NASA scientists due to his short sightedness - where did he think these scientists would end up? America is fast losing the "most powerful nation in the world" title.

When Weiping Li came from China in 1982 to study engineering at Stanford University, he didn't plan to stay long. But after earning his Ph.D., he found that the best opportunities were in the United States, and he was pleased to land a job as a professor of electrical engineering at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.

He became a U.S. citizen and raised a family. But earlier this year, he left the U.S. to work in a country where the economy is booming and universities are investing in the future: his native China.

Recruited under a Chinese government program called the "Thousand Talents," Li was named dean of the prestigious information science division of the University of Science and Technology of China. As an incentive, the university gave him a 2,000-square-foot house and a tax-free relocation payment of nearly $150,000.

"I see it as an opportunity," said Li, a USTC alumnus. "It's just like why we came to the U.S. The U.S. at the time had more opportunities than we could imagine in China in 1982."

Li is one of hundreds of top Chinese-born scientists who are returning to their homeland to take prestigious posts at universities and research laboratories. China's goal is to jump-start innovation in science and technology, an area that has lagged behind even as the country's economy has surpassed Japan to become the second largest in the world.

Known as "sea turtles," the returning scientists are offered the chance to set up their own laboratories, head university departments, or take other high-level jobs in academia and business. Two returnees from Europe have been appointed government ministers of health and science and technology.

"They are going after the A-grade players," said Vivek Wadhwa, an entrepreneur-turned-academic with ties to Harvard Law School, Duke University and the University of California at Berkeley. "They are basically doing everything they can. They give you labs. They give you everything you want. They make you feel like a national hero."

High-profile returnees include Yigong Shi, who left Princeton University to become life sciences dean at Tsinghua University; Rao Yi, who left Northwestern University to become life sciences dean at Peking University; and Shiyi Chen, who left Johns Hopkins University to become dean of engineering at Peking University.

China has waited patiently for decades for some of its brightest and most accomplished scientists to return. Until recently, it could not offer high-quality research facilities, adequate funding or an attractive research environment.

But in the past few years, the government has invested heavily in infrastructure, constructing campuses and science parks to accommodate what it hopes will be a boom in homegrown technological advances, particularly in such fields as nanotechnology, computer science and pharmaceuticals. The government's goal is to turn new discoveries into products as quickly as possible.

Richard Appelbaum, a professor of sociology and global studies at UC Santa Barbara, said he recently visited a vast new research facility outside Shanghai.

"This is a science park the size of a city," he recounted. "It's all brand-spanking-new buildings that have been put up by the government of Suzhou. They are occupied by all these startup companies, working in biology and at the interface of nano and biology. It's all very impressive, at least to an outsider."

With the "Thousand Talents" program, China is not only luring "sea turtles," but also showing new flexibility by negotiating part-time deals with "sea gulls," who split their time between universities in China and the U.S.

One "sea gull" is UC San Francisco professor Chao Tang, who also is founder and director of the Center for Theoretical Biology at Peking University, where he teaches part of the year.

A leader in the field of quantitative biology, Tang said holding positions at the two universities gives him the best of both worlds: He can stay connected with experts in his field in the U.S. while still being part of the transformation of science in China.

Tang recognizes that people with his skills provide a crucial component that China is lacking as it attempts to accelerate its capacity to innovate.

"They need people like us to be leaders, to build up institutes, to build up centers, to build up departments and to attract young people around us," he said. "They have almost everything else: money, buildings, bright students. But what is needed is what is called the 'soft environment.' People plus the system. To build a system you need people."

U.S. researchers are finding it increasingly difficult to win federal grants, and public universities such as University of California have been faced with massive budget cuts. Meanwhile, top scientists in China are more concerned about how to spend money than how to get it.
